We work at the sugar house to begin making maple syrup at Waverley Brook Farm.<br /> The spring season is maple syrup. The liquid gold produced only in this bio-region of the world is being created by the maple trees as we sleep. The nights need to be a few degrees below freezing and then a shift to a few degrees above freezing in the day creates the flow of sap that we harvest and boil into syrup for sale here at the sugar house. You are invited to come tour the maple sugar house just 4 Km from Haliburton, off Gelert Road. If we are there the gate is open.<br /> The farm animals round out our four seasons on the land. The beauty of creation is all around us in the movement of the seasons and the care that we can share in community.
